Neshoba Central PTO to host children’s ‘Boo Bash’
By Debbie Burt Myers
Jumpers, games, music by a disc jockey, face painting and a Halloween costume contest are among fun and games on tab for Neshoba Central’s first Boo Bash Friday night.
The event, which will be held annually, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. in the elementary school’s auditorium and gym.
The Boo Bash is open to all children in the county, not just those attending Neshoba Central, said Principal Tiffany Plott.
“We want it to be a fun night for all children,” she said.
The $5 entry fee includes all the activities. Children under 3 will be admitted free.
There will be a snow cone truck and Point Blank Grilling food truck on campus selling items.
Sponsored by the Parent-Teacher Organization, Boo Bash will also feature a photo booth with Halloween characters present to take pictures with children. Free popcorn will also be available.
Children are encouraged to “dress up” for the Halloween costume contest that will include “buckets of prizes.” Winners will be selected from different age groups.
“Join us for a spectacular Halloween event,” the PTO said. “Enjoy a night filled with exciting booths, whimsical characters, thrilling games, delicious food and lively music. Come dressed in your best costume and be part of the fun.”
All proceeds will benefit the PTO, which has funded numerous projects for the elementary school over the years, including a wall ball, jumping pillow, gaga pits and all Accelerated Reader prizes for students.
Additionally, the PTO is hosting its annual book fair this week with students having an opportunity to purchase books and other similar items.
“The PTO gives each teacher $100 in books for their classrooms during the book fair,” Plott said.
